Dr. Krauss entered medical school and obtained his MD at the ripe old age of 27. This was followed by postgraduate training in Ophthalmology at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute, Fellowship training in Neuro-ophthalmology and Orbital Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh and the a 2-year stint as Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Southwestern Medical School, in Dallas, where he was Chief of Ophthalmology at Parkland Memorial Hospital, Chief of Neuro-ophthalmology, Oculoplastic Surgery and Strabismus and Director of the Residency Training Program. Longing to return to the west coast, Dr. Krauss entered the private, clinical practice of Ophthalmology and Ophthalmic Surgery, in 1984.

Neuro-ophthalmology consultation:
Patients are usually referred for evaluation by other physicians (ophthalmologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, head & neck surgeons, internists, family practitioners, etc.), for evaluation and treatment of such problems as: unexplained vision loss, double vision (diplopia), displacement of the eye, injuries, Graves’, or other inflammatory conditions, eyelid abnormalities, tumors, etc.

Eye and Vision Evaluation and Care:
  • General, routine eye, and vision examinations, including assessment of the health of the eyes, prescribing of eyeglasses, and contact lens evaluation
  • Diagnosis and treatment of eye and eyelid infections
  • Management of ocular injury
  • Cataract, including no-stitch cataract and lens implant surgery
  • Glaucoma, including laser treatment
