Vaginal Rejuvenation Surgery
At your consultation, your surgeon will determine your level of laxity with a physical exam. A blood and urine test will also be preformed. You should be in good physical health before you have any surgery.
Vaginal rejuvenation is performed as an outpatient procedure. Most surgeons use IV sedation along with a pudendal block (nerve block to numb your entire vagina and vulva). Small incisions are made around your vagina in which loose muscles are tightened and shortened and any excess tissue will be removed. Sutures are used to tighten the muscles of the upper/anterior (if required), lower/posterior and perineum according to your specifications and desires. If you're having laser vaginal rejuvenation, your incisions are made by a fine laser. Once complete, your incisions are sutured and you go to recovery. The procedure takes anywhere from 1 to 1½ hours.
