Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
Every day I am blessed with the opportunity to help others. Wether is helping a women with breast cancer feel more "whole" by performing a breast reconstruction or helping the shy, introverted young lady blossom with a body profile that she has always wanted. I feel a real sense of achievement when my patients smile, thank me, and refer me their friends to help them through their difficulties.
Finish this sentence: If I weren't a doctor I would be___.
hotel concierge. I love to help people enjoy their lives and life experiences. I feel that it is part of my team's job to make your surgical experience as comfortable and safe as possible.
When (your age) did you first realize you wanted to become a surgeon? And did you experience anything in particular to motivate you to achieve this prestigious goal?
My father was a general surgeon. I started working and operating with him when I was 12 years old. I went to medical school when I was 19 and knew that I wanted to be a surgeon to help people whom were injured or ill. In medical school I decided to become a plastic surgeon and have never looked back. It is a very happy profession. I make people look and feel better about themselves.
Can you tell us in your own words what you consider a perfect outcome of a surgical procedure?
A perfect surgical result accomplishes the desired goals decided by the patients after careful discussion about the options, risks, and alternatives. A perfect result is one that is not evident to anyone except individuals that knew the patient before surgery. The result should be pleasing to the eye, natural, and that accent the patient's other pleasing features. The surgery should be safely performed with as little pain or discomfort possible.
What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?
My favorite procedures are those that are performed to make a prettier and perkier breast. I love to create a breast for the young lady who has waited her entire life for them to begin to grow. I also love helping the young mother who feels ravished by the changes in her breast from pregnancy - lifting and augmenting them to their previous state - or maybe even better.
