Education

Dr. Richard Ehrlichman is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who received his Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University in 1976 and went on to receive his M.D. from The Johns Hopkins Medical School in 1980. He completed a surgical internship at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and did his surgical residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital, both in Boston. His plastic surgery residency training took place at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1985 through 1987.

Following his post graduate residencies, Dr. Ehrlichman went on to become the Staff Surgeon in the department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, at the Lahey Clinical Center, Burlington, MA. There, he was also the director of the residency program and head of the melanoma clinic. From 1992 until he joined Bosley Medical Group, he was on staff at Wellesley Hospital, Newton, MA, at Beth Israel Deaconess Needham Hospital, Needham, MA, and at the University Hospital in Boston, MA. Prior to dedicating his practice to hair restoration surgery, Dr. Ehrlichman was a Surgeon with Plastic Surgery Specialists in Wellesley Massachusetts.

Dr. Ehrlichman holds a clinical professor position at both the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. In addition to his teaching experience, he had given over 30 lectures and presentations, and written and co-authored a number of articles and reports. He was an assistant editor for the Johns Hopkins Medical Journal, a member of the Editorial Policy Committee at Lahey Clinic Medical Center and, from 1994 to the present, has been an active member of the ASPRS Public Education Committee.

For over 30 years, Dr. Ehrlichman has maintained an active role in medical research through a number of research fellowships. His most recent research has focused on peripheral nerve regeneration, at the Nerve Tissue Culture Lab of the Lahey Clinic Medical Center.

Dr. Richard Ehrlichman is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Additionally, Dr. Ehrlichman is a member of Johns Hopkins Medical and Surgical Association, American Medical Association, Massachusetts Medical Society, Boston Surgical Society, Harvard Medical Alumni Association, American Society of Plastic Surgery, Massachusetts Society of Plastic Surgery, New England Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, Plastic Surgery Research Council, American College of Surgeons, and American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Ehrlichman is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Medical Corps and recently returned from deployment in Afghanistan.
