Women, who want feet that are more beautiful, are flocking to plastic surgery centers around the country to undergo a toe reshaping procedure. Women with very wide toes are “suffering” from a condition that has been coined, ‘toe-besity’. New York-based podiatrist Dr. Oliver Zong recently interviews with “Good Morning America” about this emerging trend, and shares some insights about this elective surgery.

Even though women are often stereotyped as driving demand for cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures, a recent study released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) indicates that more men than ever are heading to the cosmetic surgeon for their own male makeover.

The ASPS reports that 1.1 million men underwent some type of cosmetic procedure in 2010 alone. The baby boomer generation continues to drive demand for procedures such as facelifts, Botox, liposuction, and other figure-enhancing surgeries. Seniors have also been jumping on the bandwagon to improve their appearance with plastic surgery in recent years.

As more people jump on Facebook, Skype, and other online applications to share photos and participate in live chat sessions, an increasing number are becoming very self-conscious about their appearance. Plastic surgeons around the country are reporting an increase in demand for the ‘Facebook Facelift’, a set of cosmetic procedures to make you look better online.

Most 14-year-old girls are concerned about their looks and many are already wearing braces, getting their first bra, and playing with new hairstyles. Mothers of young teens may even let their daughters try makeup and push the envelope with their choice of clothing. But what about getting a boob job? 14-year-old Britney Marshall from Nottinghamshire grew up in a family where breast implants were the norm, and according to her mother, Britney “is going through a funny phase at the moment and saying she doesn’t want to get her boobs done.”

One of the secrets to Jennifer Lopez’s youthful looks is her heart-shaped face. Jennifer’s plump, lifted cheeks help her retain a very youthful appearance and this feature has been deemed the cornerstone of a younger-looking face. As we get older, the fat in our cheeks tends to disappear and this area can even appear hollowed out. Plastic surgeons recommend facial fillers to restore the lost volume in the cheeks or even fat grafting if you want a more permanent solution.

Sarah Burge from Great Britain, otherwise known as the “Human Barbie”, is working hard to have her daughter Poppy enter pageant competitions in the United States. The mom of 8-year-old Poppy made headlines recently for giving her daughter gift certificates for a boob job and liposuction when she turns 18. Burge is a determined pageant mom who has just entered her daughter into her first American competition to be held in Atlanta this May.

According to a recent story on limelife.com, Burge has spent about $30,000 on her daughter to make sure she wins every pageant competition. She recently told Socialite Life that the young girl is training for the upcoming events in America up to four hours per day after school.

Kris Jenner of the famous Kardashian family is currently tied up in a lawsuit she filed against a cosmetics company she was working with because she underwent a facelift. The company claims that Jenner is guilty of a breach of contract because she went under the knife. The company believes that Jenner cannot endorse an anti-aging product when she has decided to have a facelift procedure to enhance her own looks.

The original report filed by TMZ discusses the facelift that has caused a stir with the anti-aging company, pointing out that the facelift goes against her endorsement of a beauty product that she had agreed to promote for the company. Jenner was originally under contract to promote the Frownies brand and the Beautiful Eyes Bag product, a wrinkle treatment for lines that appear around the eyes.

A recent set of pictures of Taylor Swift wearing a fitted tee shirt and striped dress have sparked rumors that the star has had breast implants. The Taylor Swift breast implant controversy has been circulating the Web for the past couple of weeks and many have suggested that she has just been wearing a “very good bra” to enhance her figure. The naturally skinny singer has built her reputation on being a natural beauty which is why even critics are doubting that she really went under the knife for the popular breast augmentation procedure.

Even though many Americans were recovering from the economic problems of 2009 and 2010, a good number of consumers did manage to include plastic surgery in their budgets this past year. Surgeons around the country noticed a steady increase in demand for more affordable procedures like Botox, non-invasive facelifts, and other minimally-invasive procedures, as well as continued demand for breast augmentation, liposuction, and other popular plastic surgery procedures.

Latest statistics reveal that annual spending on cosmetic and plastic surgery ranges from $30 billion to $40 billion each year around the globe. Breast implants, liposuction and tummy tuck procedures continue to be among the most popular procedures for men and women, and are usually performed specifically to enhance the person’s appearance.

Women often undergo breast augmentation or a tummy tuck procedure after having a baby as part of a mommy makeover package. Men and women who have been struggling with losing a few stubborn inches turn to liposuction to trim down their figures.
