One of the secrets to Jennifer Lopez’s youthful looks is her heart-shaped face. Jennifer’s plump, lifted cheeks help her retain a very youthful appearance and this feature has been deemed the cornerstone of a younger-looking face. As we get older, the fat in our cheeks tends to disappear and this area can even appear hollowed out. Plastic surgeons recommend facial fillers to restore the lost volume in the cheeks or even fat grafting if you want a more permanent solution.

While Kim Kardashian has been very public about staying away from plastic surgery procedures, her mother Kris Jenner has become a well-known celebrity plastic surgery addict. Kim K.’s boyfriend Kanye West has been pleading wit Jenner to stop having plastic surgery because he fears that she will end up dead like his own mother Donda West. Donda died tragically at the age of 58 after undergoing a tummy tuck, breast reduction, and liposuction procedure. A close source reveals that, “That loss crushed Kanye”. Since Kanye’s become very close to Kris, he may be feeling that he doesn’t want to lose a second mom to a plastic surgery death.

Tom Cruise, now 50, has maintained most of his young, boyish looks from his Top Gun days and has some critics wondering if the star has gone under the knife. Cruise recently interviewed with Playboy and revealed that he has never gone under the knife – and probably never will.

People been commenting on Tom Cruise’s youthful appearance after some pictures next to his much younger wife, Katie Holmes.

Earlier this year, Hollywood Reporter, EPOCA magazine claimed that Cruise had been talking to a Brazilian cosmetic surgeon. This sparked buzz that Cruise either had, or was going to have, plastic surgery.

Kris Jenner of the famous Kardashian family is currently tied up in a lawsuit she filed against a cosmetics company she was working with because she underwent a facelift. The company claims that Jenner is guilty of a breach of contract because she went under the knife. The company believes that Jenner cannot endorse an anti-aging product when she has decided to have a facelift procedure to enhance her own looks.

The original report filed by TMZ discusses the facelift that has caused a stir with the anti-aging company, pointing out that the facelift goes against her endorsement of a beauty product that she had agreed to promote for the company. Jenner was originally under contract to promote the Frownies brand and the Beautiful Eyes Bag product, a wrinkle treatment for lines that appear around the eyes.

Today’s innovative treatments for wrinkle reduction include laser skin resurfacing treatments, facelift surgery and dermal fillers such as Restylane and Botox. However, cell therapy may be another option for men and women in the United States in the near future.

Fibrocell Sicence, Incorporated, a biotechnology company focused on developing regenerative fibroblast cells for aesthetic, medical and scientific application has announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Cellular, Tissue and Gene Therapies Advisory Committee is reviewing azfibrocel-T, an autulogous cell therapy for the treatment of nasolabial fold wrinkles in adults.

While many people are lining up for their latest Botox fix or injectables session, researchers say we could be saying bye-bye to Botox sooner than we think. A recent study shows that RHAMM protein, a protein that has been linked to the spread of several major human cancers, has the ability to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, and rejuvenate the skin.  RHAMM stands for Receptor for Hyaluronan Mediated Motility, a compound that is directly involved with signaling fat cells to repair wounds and injuries that result from skin cuts, or even a heart attack.

High concentrations of this compound in the blood can trigger rapid skin tissue repair and healing, which mean the skin could be restored after significant tissue damage from the sun and other environmental factors.

Brow lifts are particularly effective for men and women who have sagging skin above the eyelids; these individuals often complain that people think they appear angry or tired, and the brow lift helps create a more youthful, bright-eyed look.  Botox injections can provide temporary relief from the problem, but a brow lift presents a permanent solution.

Still, the procedure has its drawbacks;  surgeons who do not perform the procedure correctly may cause the patient to look too 'surprised,' an appearance that can be difficult to hide.

In spite of the turbulent economy in 2008 and the gloomy outlook presented by financial analysts and economic experts, Americans may still be fueling a few spending streaks in 2009.

The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ASAPS) is predicting a significant increase in demand for certain types of cosmetic and plastic procedures, in addition to trends where consumers are prepared to 'try' new and innovative procedures entering the market.
