I am interested in breast implants via the navel. I have heard that this is the best way to receive implants. Is this true? Are there surgeons in my area that have experience with this procedure. I have done research on this and I am very excited! Thanks
Answer:
Placement of breast implants via an incision in the navel is a novel approach for this operation. I have no personal experience with this technique. It has not been widley accepted in the plastic surgical community. The only plastic surgeon who I know is doing this procedure is Dr. Edwin Pound in Atlanta Georgia. The implant manufacturers will not provide a warranty of any implant placed thru the umbilicus because they may potentially be injured by the instruments used to insert them by this approach.
