Question:
I need some info or case reports of a chin implant mentoplasty? also would like breast augmentation and liposuction at the same time, or is this too much for a single anesthesia?
Answer:
Dear Kristie, A chin implant procedure is relatively easy on you as is liposuction. All three procedures could readily be performed at the same procedure time. If you do not need a very large advancement of your chin, an implant of either silicon or porex is an excellent means of improving the contour of that area. There are some before and after picture on my web site at drgregorycaputy.com.

Question:
I had a chin implant 11 years ago, I have never been happy with the results. Can the implant be replaced or removed after this length of time? And what would the approx. cost be?
Answer:
Dear Elaine, Chin implants have changed a lot over the years from small "button" type implants to more extensive and natural looking "glove" implants. Just removing the implant, depending upon size, may cause problems with your chin drooping, but to replace it with a more modern implant or to advance you chin bone and have no implant present are both options that you should explore with your local plastic surgeon. Costs vary but about $2000 to $3000 should cover the cost of that procedure.

Question:
Hello I have just returned from Mexico where I have had My second Rhino. done the first was about 15 years ago, this left me unhappy with my nose. now 33yo I decided to do it again along with my chin. question it has been One week since my opperation, and allthough it is hard to tell I think Im going to be happy with both. Question: Im experienceing alot of numbness on my chin and lower lip this is to be expected? and if so for how long? Thank you in
Answer:
Dear Rob, There are some excellent surgeons in Mexico and I hope that you are pleased with your surgery once the healing is complete. It is hard to know if the sensory nerves which supply your chin were injured at the time of surgery and to what extent. If the feeling does not return over the next few months, it may not do so. The mental nerves which supply sensation to the chin come out of the bone just to the side and sometimes under the larger glove shaped chin implants we all now use. Hopefully, they were just slightly injured and your sensation will return as opposed to being severely injured or cut, in which case you may end up with a numb chin or pain to the side of your chin.

Question:
I am inquiring about a procedure that entails transfering fat from one part of the body (stomach) to another (breasts). I would like to know if such a surgery is possible, the name of the procedure, estimated cost, risks involved, and any other information you are willing to give. My goal in researching this type of procedure is to have more natural looking and feeling breasts. I have had two breast augmentation surgeries to achieve the size I want. I have gone from a small A-cup to a large D-cup with saline implants. I am very pleased with the results, compared to my appearence prior to the surgeries. However, it is obvious that I have implants when my breasts are touched and they are also very round. My plastic surgeon explained to me that this would be the result, I'm just wondering if there is anything that can be done to make my breasts look and feel more natural. I also would like to reduce the size of my breasts from my current D-cup (with implants) to a C-cup. Please let me know what you can about the procedure I mentioned and anything at all that may help accomplish my goal. Thank you very much.
Answer:
Unfortunately, fat grafting to the breast for enlargement purposes fails to work and can cause problems. Breast implants remain the best operation for breast augmentation even though this to can have imperfections. Perhaps, you are a candidate for silicone gel implants that are available to those women deemed saline implant unsuitable. Ask your physcian about this option

Question:
Can I get breast implants to make me a B or C cup size? I am a male. Thank you.
Answer:
It is technically possible to enlarge even a male chest to a B to C cup size. However, in some individual the use of skin expansion might be needed to accomplish this result. This simply put involves stretching the skin of the chest gradually to accomodate the size implant required to reach these cup sizes.

Question:
I live in VT and am looking at having breast augmentation performed in Montreal, Canada. What is the Canadian equivalent of being board certified in the U.S.? I'm having a hard time researching my doctor because he's in another country. Thank you!
Answer:
I am not sure. I think it is the Royal Society of Canadian Plastic Surgeons. WHy don't you ask your canadian surgeon himself/herself that question?
