Breast Lift Surgery Questions and Answers

Question:

I was interested in having Breast lift surgery.I do not wish to be "knocked-out" could that still be done and what is the recovery time?

Answer 1:

I would recommend that the surgery be performed under general anesthesia. IT is safe. Most mastopexy operations are quite extensive. But make an appointment with a plastic surgeon in your area and let him/her examine you and determine what surgery is right for you. The recovery time is dependent upon the type of surgery performed.

Answer 2:

Dear Tersesa, There is very littly difference, these days between general anesthetic and intravenous sedation other than control of the airway (meaning these days that mask is used inside the mouth in order to safely deliver your body oxygen). You usually still breathe on your own even with general anesthetic. I would suggest that you leave the decision to a competent anesthesiologist who is providing your care. Most of our patients have found very little difference between simply not remembering the surgery and being "knocked out".

Years ago I had a breast reduction. Since then I have lost a lot of weight. Now my breasts are very small-YEAH!! but droopy. What is a breast lift, how is it done, and does is look natural?

Answer:

The breast lift surgery is very similar to breast reduction surgery in that the final scarring for both operations is identical. The result is quite natural as well. However, sometimes the lift can be accomplished using a breast implant.
