Hair Restoration (Transplants)
Female
Women also suffer from androgenetic alopecia (ie female pattern hair loss). Some physicians do not like to treat women with female pattern hair loss as they feel they do not make good candidates and have unrealistic expectations. Therefore it is paramount that the hair transplant surgeon takes the time at the initial consultation to assess the patient's goals and expectations.

Hair Restoration (Transplants) Photos - Angle 1
Details: In my experience properly selected female patients make excellent candidates for hair transplantation and have excellent results. A study that was performed on 827 women over a 10 year period showed that 70% of women seen in consultation were candidates for hair restoration surgery. Another reason for female patients seeking consultation for hair loss is the result of alteration and scarring of their frontal hairline after face lifts. This problem is very nicely treated with hair transplantation using the new follicular unit grafting technique. |
