Case: 13813 Category: Breast Implant Revision Gender: Female Description: This 45 year old patient from North Hollywood, California found Dr. Pousti and came in several times to discuss symmastia repair. She was extremely unhappy with her first breast augmentation surgery which resulted in symmastia. Symmastia - commonly referred to as "breadloafing" or "uni-boob", occurs when two implants touch one another in the center of the chest. If the horizontal muscle that is connected to the sternum and goes across the implant is cut during surgery, then the implant can move toward the middle of the chest. She had lost confidence in the surgeon who performed the first surgery and felt very comfortable with Dr. Pousti's experience in revisionary breast surgery. This patient is only 4 months post-op breast augmentation surgery and symmastia correction extremely happy with her results. |
