This 18 year-old male student from Lafayette was originally born with a cleft lip and palate deformity and wanted improvement of his nasal deformity. Dr. Barry Eppley of Indianapolis Indiana performed an open rhinoplasty with hump and dorsal line reduction, tip rehaping, and cartilage grafting for tip and nostril support.

Details: Nose surgery in a cleft patient is particularly challenging due to not only the deformity caused by the cleft but by tissue deficiency as well. Cleft noses usually require a complete overall involving internal breathing modifications as well as external reshaping. |
