This is a 5 year-old female child from Lafayette Indiana whose parents wanted to improve the appearance of her ears before she started school. Protruding ears can be a real source of teasing in young children as they enter school. Dr. Barry Eppley of Indianapolis feels that one's child can undergo otoplasty as early as age 4, even before they begin preschool. Otoplasty is an easy and gratifying operation for any patient to go through, regardless of age.

Details: Otoplasty is done through a small incision on the back of the ear. Sutures are placed in the ear cartilage to allow it to bend back into a more pleasing alignment to the side of the head. |
