This 46 year-old female from Plainfield Indiana sought improvement for her 'sunken face' qappearance. Facial lipoatrophy is a common condition marked by shrinking of the cheek and facial fat, giving a very gaunt appearance. Fat injections can bring volume to the face to give a fuller, healthier, and more youthful appearance. While fat injections can be unpredictable, Dr. Barry Eppley of Imdianapolis mixes the patient's fat with a special concentrate of the patient's platelets (PRP, platelet-rich plasma) in an effort to get better survival of the injected fat.
