For various reasons, this young man did not have his prominent ears corrected at the usual age of 4 or 5 years. Throughout his school years, as happens to so many children with this condition, he had been the object of frequent teasing and comments. He asked Dr Dowden to perform an otoplasty, correcting the outward prominence of his ears. After his operation his ears are no longer such a prominent feature of his face. (34655)
