Craniofacial Surgery Before and After Pictures by Barry L Eppley, M.D., D.M.D.

This 20 year-old female from Columbus Ohio had an acrylic cranioplasty procedure performed as a young child for a forehead defect. Its shape was irregular and she had developed chronic skin redness over one eyebrow and intermittent numbness above the same eyebrow area. It was felt she had developed some chronic inflammatory reaction to the implant material. Dr. Barry Eppley, Indianapolis plastic surgeon, performed a revisional cranioplasty procedure. All of the old material was removed and replaced with a better forehead contour with hydroxyapatite cement. Her numbness and skin redness went away completely after surgery.
