Removing a large hump in a young woman with fine skin can be difficult. The shape of the tip and nostrils can change in unfavorable ways if the surgeon isn't prepared. Dr. Fozo performed a cosmetic rhinoplasty with septoplasty on this young woman. He not only preserved the nice shape of her tip, but enhanced it and improved tip symmetry. Most patients notice a dorsal hump on profile. This young woman was no exception. She asked Dr. Fozo to perform a cosmetic rhinoplasty to address the hump. After a careful analysis, Dr. Fozo determined that the position of her nasal tip was not ideal, and undersupported. Removing the hump alone sometimes causes the tip to droop even more. This patient wanted an improvement in the appearance of her nose and chin. She did not like the tip of her nose, which was round and bulbous, and she did not like the hump on the bridge. Her chin was sunken in.
A full rhinoplasty was perfromed narrowing and elevating the tip as well as reducing the dorsal hump. A chin implant was also placed giving her more of a strong chin to fit her face.
