"Hi. I have a problem with one of my nipples. It is only partly there and looks as if it has just rotted off. I am 16 and don't remember when it got like this I only know it's been like that for about 5 yrs. I went to a doctor a couple of years ago but she said just to wait and see if it grows back which it hasn't and I am positive it won't on it's own. Patient who had a previous mastopexy by another surgeon had nipple inversion and denting above the nipple. Implants were placed and the inverted nipple was everted in the office in a half-hour procedure under local anesthesia. Other forms of anesthesia may be used.
This patient wanted a more natural look to his nipples and thus his chest.

Patient with severely inverted nipples underwent breast augmentation and is shown two weeks post-op. The augmentation will not evert a nipple in almost all cases. The procedure is completed in the office under local anesthesia. Note the projection and amount of nipple bud that was inverted, causing inability to breast feed, embarassment when breasts are exposed and decreased intimacy factors.
