Lower Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) Pictures

This 48-year old patient is 1 1/2 months post-op upper and lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty). This patient complained that she always looked tired and felt that her eyes were "heavy". The patient is extremely happy with the results of her surgery.

This 33 year old patient from San Marcos, California wanted to have her lower eyelids examined by a cosmetic surgeon to find out how to get rid of her 'tired' look. She was very happy to find out that Dr. Pousti is a board certified plastic surgeon. She is now 3 months post-op lower eyelid surgery and very happy with the results.

This 71-year-old patient from San Diego, California had been interested in eyelid surgery for a year or so. She felt like her eyelids were "heavy" and were blocking her vision. Dr. Lee performed lower eyelids surgery on this patient. A significant amount of fat was removed in addition to excess skin. The incision line was made directly underneath the lash line to remove the fat and the skin was excised and pulled upward and laterally to create a tight and smooth appearance.

Dr. Lee performed transconjunctival(removal of fat from the inside of the eyelid) lower lids surgery since the patient had minimal excess skin. There is no visible scar since the incision is made inside the eyelid. The patient only had minimal swelling and recovery after surgery.

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that repairs droopy eyelids by removing excess skin, muscles and fat. During the procedure, the Dr. Barad makes incisions along the natural folds in the skin so that as they heal, they become difficult or impossible to see. The procedure typically takes anywhere between one and two hours and is usually performed under local anesthesia. The surgery is done at our state-of-the-art surgical center.

Eyelid problems are common, even in younger people. Correcting eyelid problems that interfere with your vision is considered functional surgery and may be covered by insurance.
