This 6 year old patients mom was interested in getting her daughters ears pinned back. Her daughter was being teased at school and her self-confidence was being effected. She is now a few months post-op otoplasty surgery and doing very well.
This is a 24 year old Asian Female who was interested in having plastic surgery to pin back her ears. She was concerned about her prominent ears and we discussed otoplasty which is a way to shape / reshape her ears. She received ear pinning / shaping at our Office. This 7 year-old female child from Indianapolis Indiana was born with a severe right ear deformity where most of the external ear was missing. Dr. Barry Eppley of Indianapolis Indiana performed a multi-staged microtia ear reconstruction. The first stage uses rib cartilage grafts to make the initial framework and subsequent stages involve smaller operations to make an ear release, a lobule, and a tragus.
