Her lateral incisors had always been narrow, and a previous dentist had placed short, fat porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns on them. Unfortunately, the teeth still looked too short and "gummy", the color was poor and the metal showed. A minor cosmetic gum lift to align the gums allowed us to place new metal-free ceramic crowns that had the proper proportions. She had spaces, poorly matched old crowns, and large old silver amlagam fillings on her back teeth. A fixed (non-removable) ceramic bridge was used to replace the missing tooth, and all other teeth received individual porcelain crowns. |
