The patient is a 43 year old woman from Parker, Colorado who was referred to Dr. Aguirre by her plastic surgeon of Denver for labiaplasty due to the complexity of her case. She has been bothered by "unsightly" large and dark labia for many years. Her symptoms are that of discomfort wearing tight underwear or jeans. She also experienced discomfort with riding a bicycle. During intercourse she feels the need to readjust her labia due to irritation. Upon further questioning she reports symptoms of vaginal relaxation including stress associated urinary incontinence which has worsened over the past few years as she now loses urine with sex and is unable to perform certain physical exercises. Dr. Aguirre recommended a suburethral sling procedure to address her stress incontinence and a labial reduction to address her aesthetic and functional concerns. She had the following: 1) In-office AWAKE Labiaplasty of the labia minora using the Ellman Surgitron Radio Frequency Device, 2) Excision of redundant labia minora posteriorly (left side greater than right), and 3) Excision of redundant prepuce on the right side. She decided to postpone her sling procedure for a later time and take advantage of an in-office labia reduction. She saved thousands in hospital and anesthesia costs by having the surgery done in the privacy of Dr. Aguirre's state-of-the art office. She spent/enjoyed weeks 4 and 5 of her recovery in Europe. She is eager to exercise and become intimate again.
