This has interesting implications for the professionals and individuals that work to conquer obesity. The 60 percent surveyed that were not taking steps to lose weight is particularly alarming. Being obese can lead to a variety of health issues, including high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, stroke, metabolic syndrome, abnormal blood fats, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea, and gallstones among others. It can also raise the risk of certain cancers, including colon, breast, endometrial, and gallbladder. Obesity can also cause reproductive problems for women.
