Dr. Jan Remer-Osborn, Director of Psychological Services for Midwest Fertility Center, is a licensed clinical psychologist and a member of the American Psychological Association and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Osborn brings a rich and diverse background working with couples and individuals in the areas of marital therapy, sexual dysfunction, premenstrual syndrome, relaxation training, rehabilitation, neuropsychology, anxiety, adjustment and stress disorders.
Dr. Osborn recognizes the unique needs of individuals and couples concerning emotional issues related to infertility. She acknowledges and respects the special attributes of each person and designs her clinical treatment with these in mind. She teaches new skills when appropriate to maintain the psychological well-being of patients undergoing fertility treatment.
Under the direction of Dr. Osborn, Midwest Fertility Center offers an extensive range of services to patients and their partners:
- Anxiety and pain management.
- Compassionate listening techniques, teaching partners to listen to each other’s fertility issues and emotions, such as sadness, loss, helplessness, and anger, without blame and judgment.
- Body-mind model approach, teaching imagery and relaxation techniques to patients undergoing IVF and other assisted reproductive procedures.
- Consultation to all participants in the egg-donor and sperm-donor programs.
