Case: 16169 Category: Ear Surgery (Otoplasty) Age: 14 Gender: Female Skin Tone: Fair Description: This young patient had been self-conscious about her prominent ears for most of her life. Otoplasty allowed her to forget about her ears and feel confident about her looks. Before her otoplasty (reshaping of the ears), a deep conchal bowl and antihelical unfurling caused her ears to protrude excessively. After otoplasty, a much more appropriate appearance to the ears has been achieved by restructuring the cartilage and soft-tissue. As a result, the ears no longer distract from an otherwise pretty face.
[N.B., in the "after" photo, she has also acquired a bit of a tan...despite the nice glow, suntans are not something we recommend for keeping the skin healthy.] |
