Acne Scar Removal

We now have the new Fraxel 1500 laser to treat acne scars. The procedure is done in the office with topical and local anesthesia and only takes a few days to recover from. There is no bleeding or scabbing. Most patients who desire treatment of acne scars have 4-5 treatments, usually done about one month apart.

Vascular birthmarks can often be eliminated completely with little or no evidence that it was ever present if the proper laser is used. We have a tunable dye laser that is specific for vascular lesions. It is done in the office with only topical anesthesia. There is very little discomfort after the procedure which may be covered by your insurance company.

CONSULTATIONS Consultations cost $60 which is subtracted from the cost of surgery. At the beginning of the consultation, after completing the preliminary paper work, the patient talks with Dr. McMahan in his office about the procedures that he or she is interested in. Brochures and consent forms are critically reviewed which discuss details of the procedure(s), risks, and what is done to minimize those risks. Following a detailed examination, a cost analysis is provided along with a list of medications to avoid prior to surgery. A packet of literature is given to each patient.
