| Dr. Bivik R. Shah is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has had many years of training to specialize in plastic surgery.
He grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and then went to the University of Michigan for a degree in Electrical Engineering. He then came back to the Buckeye state and went to the Ohio State University for Medical School for four years.
Dr. Shah then entered his surgical training. He did four years of general surgical training and then two years of specialized plastic surgery training.
After his 14 years of school and training, Dr. Shah joined the faculty of The Ohio State University. At OSU, Dr. Shah was responsible for performing surgery on some of the city's most complicated burn and reconstruction cases. He was also a part of the residency education and a part of training the next generation of plastic surgeons. While at OSU, he has written several papers that have been published in medical journals, including chapters about burn care. Dr. Shah is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Burn Association, and the Ohio State Medical Association.
Though Dr. Shah found the work at OSU very rewarding, he decided it was time to move on. Dr. Shah's goal is to create an environment in a private practice setting that leaves each patient with the feeling that they are very cared for and important, striving to meet each and every medical need. |
