BOTOX® is a purified protein, which when injected into a facial muscle, blocks impulses from the nerve to the muscle, thereby relaxing the muscle so it does not contract. This causes the overlying skin to become smoother, with fewer lines and wrinkles. Brow lifts can improve sagging and wrinkled foreheads or eyebrows that hang too low and too close to the eyes. Sagging usually accompanies frown lines between the eyebrows. An attractive face has well-defined proportions, with a good balance between the middle-third and the lower-third of the face. A weak chin creates an optical illusion that makes the nose look too prominent or the neck heavier. A heavy neck or “turkey neck” can make one appear heavy or full faced. The relationship you have with Dr. Fiala extends throughout the office, where you’ll find experienced, well-trained staff ready to attend to your needs and provide you with the highest level care and support through the surgical process, from consultation to recovery. Every member of our staff has an extensive background in plastic surgery, so you can be confident that they will make each step of your procedure as comfortable and convenient as possible for you.
During your first visit to our office, you’ll meet with Dr. Fiala, who will provide a detailed evaluation and recommend the best options for your needs. He also will answer any questions or concerns you may have about the procedure.
Our experienced Patient Coordinator will educate you about the operative process and review our preoperative instructions. A member of our experienced staff will also assist you in fully understanding the process and instructions in detail. You’ll receive a customized information package and also have the opportunity to review educational videotapes about your surgery. You may schedule your surgery at this time, if desired.
After surgery, you will return to our office for several postoperative visits. We will evaluate your progress, remove sutures and help you enjoy a smooth recovery.
Although Dr. Fiala knows quite accurately what results to expect from certain procedures, the picture in your mind may be completely different. Therefore, using the latest in digital computer cameras and special imaging software developed specifically for plastic surgeons, we can approximate the surgery's effects and offer you a "preview" of how you may look following surgery.
While computer imaging is an educational and communication tool, and acts as a fairly good prediction of the surgery's results, it is not what the actual result itself will be. However, we have found this to be an excellent way to communicate the goals and desired results of certain procedures to our patients.
