Janet L. Kennedy, M.D. obtained her Bachelor's Degree with honors from the Johns Hopkins University in 1974; the first undergraduate class in JHU history to graduate women. She proceeded to attend the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore and was awarded her Medical Degree in 1978. After one year of internship in York, Pennsylvania, Dr. Kennedy completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Kennedy obtained her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia from 1982 to 1984. She then moved back to Baltimore and served for four years as Assistant Professor in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
For the last 16 years, Dr. Kennedy has been engaged in the private practice of Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility and Gynecology in Baltimore. During this time, she has received numerous awards including the “Golden Apple Teaching Award” for excellence in resident teaching and guidance as well as being named one of the Baltimore Magazine’s “Best Doctors” in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Dr. Kennedy is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both Ob/Gyn and Reproductive Endocrinology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. Dr. Kennedy is also a member of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons, the American Andrology Society and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Dr. Kennedy's particular professional interests include menopause, reproductive surgery and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Her hobbies include bicycling, quilting and beading.
