Medical Director & Founder
As one of the top Corneal Specialist surgeons in Canada, Dr. Rootman plays a leading role in the industry through his research and the advancement of his practice. In the past 15 years, Dr. Rootman has performed thousands of refractive and corneal surgeries and has been asked to perform lectures all around the world. Together Doctors Rootman and Slomovic run the largest corneal fellowship program in Canada, training two to four surgeons every year from Canada and abroad.
Dr. Allan R. Slomovic, MA, MD, FRCSC
Assistant Medical Director
Dr. Slomovic has made refractive surgery and ophthalmic research an emphasis in his practice for over 15 years. Over this time, he published numerous articles in international professional journals and has lectured at ophthalmology conferences worldwide.
Dr. Neera Singal, MD, FRCSC
Dr. Singal is an exceptional laser refractive surgeon, and is also a member of an elite group of surgeons in Toronto that perform Corneal Transplants, Intacs and IEK surgeries. She is a member of various associations, constantly staying atop the latest advances in the industry and lectures at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Theodore Rabinovitch, MD, FRCSC
Dr. Rabinovitch brings over two decades of experience in laser refractive surgery to the YELC team. Since co-founding the Toronto Ophthalmological Society in 1991, he has continuously served as its Chairman. As Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Toronto, he has taught residents and performed research and lectured all over North America
Dr. Arnold Kravetz, MD, FRCS
Dr. Kravetz has practiced refractive surgery since the procedure began over 20 years ago. In the past, he has served as President of both the Section on Ophthalmology and the Association of Ontario Ophthalmologists. In addition, he served as a Divisional Chief at the Etobicoke General Hospital, where he has operated a successful Comprehensive Ophthalmology practice for over 30 years.

As a professional goalie, my eyes are #1. My best years on the ice were when I didn't have glasses. Since then, I've had to wear contacts which made it painful and uncomfortable before, during and after the game. Every second counts while on the ice, so I cannot compromise my vision. I have to do everything I can to be the best player that I can be.
