Dr. Sumpter is Board Certified by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and also by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery. She is a Diplomate of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. She is on staff at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center and Willowbrook Methodist Hospital. Dr. Sumpter volunteers with the American Cancer Society and is highly involved in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. She has been published in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Sumpter is originally from San Saba (central), Texas.

Educational Background
A graduate of the University of Texas, Dr. Kristi Sumpter earned her medical degree from the University of North Texas in Fort Worth. She completed a general surgery residency, which included trauma, critical care, laparoscopy and endoscopy, at Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Dr. Sumpter underwent additional surgical training at the Detroit Medical Center, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Saginaw General Hospital in Michigan and the University Medical Center in Las Vegas in the areas of pediatric surgery, melanoma/sarcoma/endocrine surgery, gynecology/oncology and trauma respectively. She also served as a clinical instructor at Michigan State University.
