An inside interview with LocateADoc.com
Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
Helping to empower my patients in order assist them in realizing their own true infinite healing potential is by far the greatest reward for me as a physician. I enjoy nothing more than to see a patient transform completely - physically, mentally and spirtually - from the first day they walked into my office feeling disempowered, helpless, overwhelmed and physically far older than their real age and then watching them change overtime as I facilitate their healing journey.
I love to see my patients gain back the control in their lives, literally take years off their physical appearance, realize their true potential to achieve anything they are passionate about in life and experience the pure joy, excitement and zest for every day as it comes. Everyone has the right to feel that way!
I am proud to say that I have had the privledge to assist many patients on this remarkable journey of self-awareness and self-discovery and it is an honor to be chosen to be a part of that experience.
What does living in the Port Moody community mean to you?
Port Moody is a beautiful, intimate community of educated, well-informed and heartfelt individuals. Those who live here will agree, we share a zest for life, the great outdoors and the arts! I knew I wanted to live in Port Moody and hence, I chose to set up my practice and my clinic here. It's a great place to live, work, play and connect with others and nature at the same time.
What is your favorite quote or saying?
"Awareness is the power that is concealed within the present moment...The ultimate purpose of human existence, which is to say, your purpose, is to bring that power into this world"
- Eckhart Tolle (Oneness With All Life)
What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
I do not have any one specific speciality in my practice. I have a strong interest in many areas of medicine - everything from pediatrics to chronic degenerative disease to natural, minimially-invasive procedures for cosmetic rejuvenation.
Naturopathic Medicine allows for the diversity that is required for me to be able to treat and prevent various conditions in patients of all ages and in keeping with naturopathic principles: do no harm, address the root cause and treat the whole person.
I always say "I am a student of my medicine and I always will be". I combine all the tools that I have learned to be able to apply a holistic and comprehensive approach to every condition I treat and continue to stay well informed and up-to-date with the latest advancements in integrative medicine so that I may provide the best in patient care and achieve the most positive outcome for my patients.
Finish this sentence: If I weren't a doctor I would be___.
LOST! I always knew I was going to be in medicine. While all my friends in elementary school were reading "The Babysitter Club" or "Sweet Valley High" novels, I would be reading books about cancer and tumors and such things. I don't know why, I was just always curious about disease, illness and the human body. I was intrigued by all aspects of medicine. When I was 13, I watched my first surgey in an OR! Almost everything I have ever done, any choice I have ever made in my life has been with the intention to aspire to be a great physician - a goal I never actually expect to reach because it is something I will continually strive to be. I can't imagine doing anything else with my life. I truly believe it is my purpose in life to help others heal.
