Dr Meades graduated with Honours from Sydney University in 1977 and spent four years at Hospitals in New South Wales, including as Senior Resident in Ophthalmology at Repat General Hospital Concord.
Between 1985-87 Dr Meades undertook ophthalmological training at Sydney Eye Hospital with secondments to Westmead, Lidcombe, Royal Prince Alfred and St Vincent's Hospitals.
In 1997 Dr Meades underwent extensive training with Dr Peter Stewart in LASIK Refractive Surgery.
