Patent was bothered by the lines around her mouth. During her consultation with Dr. Justo he discussed 2 different options. The non-surgical recommendation was to inject the lines with Tissue Fillers such as Restylane. With this option the result is temporary and you do not eliminate the lines but "plump" the lines. To keep the result you would need to repeat injections every 4 to 6 months. The other option discussed was Laser Skin Resurfacing which is a surgical procedure with downtime. The area around the mouth is red and somewhat raw the first week. You are only using vaseline or aquaphor on the area the first 7 to 10 days, then are able to resume moisturizer and sunscreen. With this option you get 60 to 70% improvement in the lines. Patient chose to proceed with Laser Skin Resurfacing.
