My patients report they appreciate the psychotherapy I do.  It is not merely a "feel good" band-aid that offers only the false hope inherent in temporary relief from distress.  They value the emphasis on personal responsibility for their own thoughts and actions.  The non-judgmental understandings that I share with them provide the grace that they need to reconcile the conflicts between how they live and how they believe they should live.

My patients who have a religious orientation also express appreciation that I can understand where they are coming from when topics arise involving their religious beliefs.  While I work with people from all walks of life, I specialize in helping those who profess religious faith and who may be apprehensive about not having their faith understood or respected.

This is what sets the work I do apart from most of psychotherapists. I am well trained in the disciplines of  psychology and theology .  I strive to integrate insights gained from psychoanalytic psychology with Christian theology.  Very few psychologists or psychoanalysts are comfortable working in the intersection of psychology and the Christian faith.  However, healthy living and a religious walk of faith are not incompatible -- they help define and compliment one another.
