Breast augmentation is a procedure that is performed to make the breasts larger. Dr. Stratis does this procedure using either silicone-filled implants or saline-filled (salt water) implants. The goal is to provide larger, fuller breasts. The procedure will not correct all asymmetries of the breasts and will not result in a breast lift.(see Breast Lift or Mastopexy) The procedure is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis. The Breast Lift procedure is designed to correct the drooping and sagging that occurs in the breast with aging and after childbirth. Breast Reconstruction Surgery

Breast reconstruction is performed to restore the breast after cancer surgery. Dr. Stratis is expert in the full range of skills requisite to perform the various types of breast reconstruction. Breast Reduction Surgery

Breast reduction surgery is designed to make the breasts smaller, usually for medical reasons. These include neck and back pain, grooving of the shoulders from the bra straps. BENEFIT: Simultaneous procedures It’s not that unusual for a patient’s surgical plan to include both a facial procedure and a body procedure. In the conventional plastic surgery practice, the generalist plastic surgeon will perform both operations on the same day, one after the other. Dr. Stratis and Dr. Gayner can work on a patient simultaneously, typically cutting the time for surgery by half. With the simultaneous operation, the patient is under anesthesia for less time, minimizing recovery time and risk. Since the doctors are also working for less time—four hours instead of eight, for example, doctor fatigue is reduced. And because the facility and staff are needed for less time, there can be cost savings as well when performing procedures simultaneously.
