All cosmetic surgery procedures are performed at Minneapolis Plastic Surgery's free-standing, state-of-the-art, office surgical center at the main office in Golden Valley, Minnesota. The clinic's main facility includes three fully-equipped operating rooms, complete anesthesia care, treatment and minor procedure room, individual preparation and recovery areas, aesthetic suites, post-operative massage therapy, aesthetic area, and on-site surgical and cosmetic laser services. Post-operative patients can utilize a separate, private waiting area, and a separate exit can be used by patients after their surgery. The facility is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF), and is evaluated annually to ensure that it meets accreditation standards. Operative procedures requiring overnight or inpatient care are performed at one of several hospitals where MPS's plastic surgeons have full surgical privileges.
A Twin Cities native, Dr. Douglas Gervais joined Minneapolis Plastic Surgery in 1996. Dr. Gervais is fully trained in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery. Throughout his education he has excelled in cosmetic surgery, and has obtained advanced specialized training in body contouring, laser surgery, and breast surgery. While at Vanderbilt University, he studied under the country's pioneer in ultrasonic body contouring, and participated in research to develop and advance ultrasonic body contouring. The American Board of Plastic Surgery has started a MOC-PS* program for current diplomats. Dr Gervais has recently completed (and passed) this program in an effort to provide the best and most up to date care available to his patients. His private practice is aesthetic as well, with special expertise in breast surgery, ultrasonic liposuction, and facial cosmetic surgery.
