Dwight V. Galloway M.D. began his medical training at the University of Michigan Medical School. He then completed an Internship at King County Hospital in Seattle, Washington, and a four year Residency in general surgery at Los Angeles V.A Hospital. In 1967, he completed a three year residency in plastic surgery at the prestigious UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Galloway studied European surgical techniques, and embarked upon a six month fellowship with Dr. Joseph Boyes in Los Angeles studying Hand Surgery. Dr. Galloway then spent two years repairing Vietnam injuries at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Oakland, California.
Dr. Galloway began his private practice in 1970 in Billings, Montana., where he practiced full general plastic and reconstructive surgery. Soon, aesthetic (cosmetic) surgery became his primary emphasis. Searching for a more economically viable market, Dr. Galloway moved his practice to Carmel, Indiana in 1989. He chose the St. Vincent Carmel Hospital and Medical Center because of St. Vincent's superb reputation and the safety and convenience for his patients.
