William M. Flynn, M.D., F.A.C.S. joins the surgical staff of La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre with over 15 years of surgical experience. A San Diego native, he earned his Bachelor of Science with honors in biology from the University of California, San Diego. He went on to earn his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and then trained in general surgery at Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Following his general surgery training, Dr. Flynn became the Chief Resident of Plastic Surgery at the University of Miami, Florida, under the renowned facial surgery specialist, D. Ralph Millar, M.D.
Dr. Flynn is board certified in cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Flynn is an active member of the Fellow American College of Surgeons as well as the Fellow International College of Surgeons.
Apart from the extensive training Dr. Flynn brings with him to LJCSC, he also brings personalized and sensitive care to each of his patients, making their individual needs a priority. Dr. Flynn's unique artistry helps make his patients' visions become a reality and his belief in meticulous craftsmanship along with attention to the smallest detail is his promise to each of his patients. Extensive surgical skill enables Dr. Flynn to perform all areas of cosmetic surgery including the face, nose, breast and body as well as laser skin rejuvenation and chemical peels.
Dr. Flynn comes from a family of physicians. His father is a retired cardiothoracic surgeon and his mother a retired pediatrician and psychiatrist. Three of Dr. Flynn's 5 brothers are doctors. An avid athlete, Dr. Flynn enjoys running, biking and swimming when he's not in the office. His wife, Monika, is originally from Sweden and they have three beautiful children. They reside in La Jolla.
