Undergraduate degree: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida.
He also completed an additional year in graduate research in the area of enzyme kinetics and completed three years of studies in engineering.
Doctor of Medicine degree: the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida where he was selected for the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. During his medical school training he had substantial experience at the world renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
Following his internship in internal medicine and residency in ophthalmology at Vanderbilt University Hospital he opened his practice in Nashville.
