There he also completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmology. Dr. Shammas completed his Fellowship in Glaucoma at the Estelle Doheny Eye Foundation, University of Southern California.
- Dr. Shammas has held academic appointments as an assistant Professor in Clinical Ophthalmology and Director of Glaucoma Service at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Texas and White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.
- Dr. Shammas has published several articles and abstracts relating to Ophthalmology. Dr. Shammas is well received and respected in the field of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Shammas has received numerous certifications pertaining to refractive surgery including:
- Nidek Excimer Laser System Certification Course
- Nidek Microkeratome Course
- Amadeus Microkeratome
- Ladar Vision Excimer Certification Course
- Dr. Shammas received certification on Conductive Keratoplasty (CK), the procedure for patients wanting to be relieved from reading glasses.
- In addition, Dr. Shammas received special certification for the latest in technology Ladarwave/Custom Cornea.
