Jerry E. Berland, M.D., FACS, FAAP is a fellowship-trained, board-certified, pediatric ophthalmologist. Dr. Berland sees patients at our Atlanta and Woodstock offices. He joined Pediatric EyeCare in 1998.
He specializes in performing eye-muscle surgery and in treating cataracts, glaucoma, obstructed tear ducts, and eyelid abnormalities including ptosis. He also provides eye-muscle surgery and strabismus treatment to adults.
Dr. Berland received his bachelor's degree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Hahnemann University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his internship at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California, and his ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He received his fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He has practiced pediatric ophthalmology and treated adult strabismus since 1994.
Dr. Berland is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a member of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. His other memberships include the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Medical Association. He is presently Vice Chairman and Chairman Elect of the Department of Surgery at Children’s HealthCare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. |
