An inside interview with LocateADoc.com
Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
The very first LASIK patient I helped was in 1997. She was a 30ish woman with a prescription so strong that she could see clearly no further than 3 inches in front of her eyes. Immediately following her successful LASIK she could see the clock across the room. She was so thrilled with her new vision that she came to my seminars for the next year to show her thick glasses to prospective LASIK patients.
What is your charity organization of choice and why?
The First Tee program, because it takes kids from less than optimal backgrounds and teaches them living skills they will need to survive in this troubled world.
What does living in the Hamden community mean to you?
We came back to this area in 1997 to be close to our grandchildren and of course our daughter and son-in-law (who, BTW, is one of my happiest LASIK patients).
What is your favorite quote or saying?
"If it isn't broken, don't fix it!"
What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
I started off life as a very nearsighted boy, but noone knew until I was in first grade and when I got my first glasses, I first found out that trees have leaves.
Finish this sentence: If I weren't a doctor I would be___.
...in the field of computer science or robotics, neither of which existed when I was a kid deciding to become a doctor.
