Dr. Altonaga received his Doctor of Medicine degree from CETEC University in the Dominican Republic in 1982. He continued on to receive his Doctorate in Optometry from The New England College of Optometry in Massachusetts, and graduated with honors in Clinical Sciences. Dr. Altonaga is a former director of a laser vision correction center, and has extensive experience in comanagement of cataract and refractive surgery. He was appointed as Adjunct Clinical Professor of Optometry for the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Altonaga moved to Colorado Springs with his family in 2002 to lend this community his experience in both family practice and comanagement of surgical patients.
