An inside interview with LocateADoc.com
What is your charity organization of choice and why?
My charity is Give Back A Smile through the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
This organization provides dental care for survivers of Domestic Abuse.
I enjoy helping these ladies recover their self-esteem and re-enter the workplace with healthy, beautiful smiles.
I also volunteer time in local clinics for the disadvantaged.
Finish this sentence: If I weren't a doctor I would be___.
an artist.
Fortunately for me, Cosmetic Dentistry allows me to do both.
What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?
I love fixing chipped, broken, discolored, decayed or crooked front teeth. The change that it makes in the patient's health and self esteem is heart warming. Patients never fail to show their appreciation with smiles, tears and hugs. They always report that their lives have been changed for the better because of their ability to face others with confidence instead of embarrassment. Cosmetic Dentistry is not about vanity, it's about quality of life.
What procedure would you like to do more of and why?
I can't get enough of doing Cosmetic Dentistry cases and Extreme Makeovers. No matter how many hundreds or thousands of cases I do, each one is unique. Improving a person's ability to chew without pain and be free of disease is important, but equally important is the ability of a person to smile and laugh without feeling self-conscious or embarrassed about their teeth. In my practice I focus on both aspects - health and beauty.
In a perfect world, when would you like to retire, where would you go and what would you do?
I don't think I will stop doing Dentistry until I am physically unable to continue, and I hope it won't be for a very long time.
When the day comes, I'd like to travel all over the world and become familiar with other cultures and languages and write stories that take place in exotic locations.
