An inside interview with LocateADoc.com
Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient? I was in my facial plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship. This man we had performed a rhinoplasty procedure on a week before said something to me I will always remember. He sat me down and mentioned that he really wanted me to know how appreciative he was of me and what I did for him. He said that before his procedure he didn't want to go into public because his nose was too big. After we corrected his deformity, he mentioned that he could go to the supermarkete and not feel that he was being looked. He developed a confidence that he never had. His story really made me feel good about what I was doing for people. I knew that I was going into something that I really could make a little difference in the world.
What is your charity organization of choice and why? I belong to the Face to Face organization. This group focuses on helping victims of domestic violence domestically and internationally. It also concentrates on craniofacial anomalies, such as cleft lip and palate. My mentor Dr Stucker founded this organization. This is one of the main reasons that I am involved with this. Also I love to work on congenital anomalies and Face to Face has given me so many opportunities to give back to my community.
