Dr. Maher Anous was born in Cairo, Egypt around the middle of the previous century. He was educated in a French Jesuit school, hence his perfect command of French.
All of Dr. Anous' surgical training has been done in his adoptive country (he has been an American citizen since 1984) except for a stint back to France in 1988 to train in Paris with Dr. Paul Tessier, the leading figure of the twentieth century in Cranio-Facial surgery.
Dr. Anous' travels have taken him through Waterbury (Connecticut) for General surgery at the St. Mary's hospital (Yale affiliate); New York City (New York) for cancer surgery at the Sloan-Kettering Memorial hospital; Seattle (Washington) for a burn fellowship at Harborview Medical Center; Allentown (Pennsylvania) for plastic surgery at Lehigh Valley General hospital; Houston (Texas) for Microsurgery at the Mecom Institute and as mentioned above, Paris (France) at the Clinique Belvedere for Cranio-Facial surgery.
Uncompromising Safety There can be no enjoyment of a result regardless of how good it is unless you are in good health, period. Safety involves the surgeon, the personnel and the premises.
Dr. Anous: two undeniable facts make him an exceedingly safe surgeon: he knows when to say NO and he is a fast surgeon (without ever compromising the result). Speedy surgeons usually are the ones who have a plan and understand how to achieve it. There is no wasted time or superfluous motions. Minimizing surgery time is equivalent to minimizing complications.

As for the operating rooms, they are certified by the national bodies overseeing outpatient facilities. They have passed the yearly inspections and have maintained the upper echelon of certification. Basically, this means that as far as equipment, medications and training are concerned, the operating rooms (on -paper) are at the level of general and specialized hospitals. In fact, Dr. Anous' operating rooms are SAFER because they do not deal with high-risk patients (a source of infection and complications) and they provide one-on-one care (hence no potential for error or confusion about who is having what done).
