Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
The most rewarding experience I have had is going to the Dominican Republic with a group called MACLA and performing repairs of cleft lip and palate patients of all ages.
What is your charity organization of choice and why?
The Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation is one of my favorite charity organizations. I have a special interest in performing breast cancer reconstruction. I also have a family history and personal history of breast cancer, which has given me a unique perspective of what it's like to be the patient.
What does living in the Hardeeville community mean to you?
Living in the Hardeeville/Bluffton area to me means having the opportunity to open a unique solo pactice in one of the fastest growing communities in the Southeast. Plastic Surgery with a Woman's Touch.
What is your favorite quote or saying?
"Knowledge is Power"...for me, educating myself on a subject I know little about gives me power over the unknown.
What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
Working in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery allows me to use my hands in my every day work and express my artistic side. Also, having Passion for what I do.

When (your age) did you first realize you wanted to become a surgeon? And did you experience anything in particular to motivate you to achieve this prestigious goal?

What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?
I can't pick one. Surgeries of the breast and body contouring are my forte'.
What procedure would you like to do more of and why?
Non-surgical facial rejuvenation with injectables (ie. Botox, Juvederm) because to me it is like sculpting.
In a perfect world, when would you like to retire, where would you go and what would you do?
I will probably retire when I can't operate any longer. After that, I would probably teach plastic surgery. I would also travel to underserved areas to do surgery on children with cleft lip and other deformities.
