An inside interview with LocateADoc.com
Describe the most rewarding experience that you have had working with a patient?
Every Patient you work with whether for a Cosmetic procedure or Reconstructive Surgery provides a unique opportunity to gain reward - you have to rise to the challenge each and every time and that feeling of success, of helping someone gain happiness is the ultimate reward.
What is your charity organization of choice and why?
Cosmetic Karma - it's been a dream of mine for a long time and to finally see it to fruition, well it puts a smile on my face.
What does living in the New York community mean to you?
New York is the center of the World. Culturally, economically, socially, the very physical environment, it just cant be beat. There's good and bad that comes with that, but at the end of the day, everyday you can always say you saw, learned or did something new and important that day. The people are incredible, always full of surprise and reflective of human potential in so many ways!
What makes your specialties the right fields of medicine for you?
I love the pure combination of Surgical and techinical precision with Artistic vision that is required and asked of me every day.
Finish this sentence: If I weren't a doctor I would be___.
Architect
When (your age) did you first realize you wanted to become a surgeon? And did you experience anything in particular to motivate you to achieve this prestigious goal?
It was early on as a child that I was just fascinated with Biology and working with my hands. Seeing my Father interact with Patients kind of brought it all together. I'm sure that there was an episode or two of MASH that also had an impact.
Can you tell us in your own words what you consider a perfect outcome of a surgical procedure?
Aside from the technical execution its when you take the time to really listen to what the Patient wants and you are able to deliver that by applying your skills to that vision.
What is your favorite procedure to perform and why?
Facelifts. The anatomy is fascinating and the multitude of elegant techniques that can be employed is ever evolving.
What procedure would you like to do more of and why?
I need to make time to go to India and work with burn victims. As much as the country is changing, there are still some very sad stories of victims of violence there.
In a perfect world, when would you like to retire, where would you go and what would you do?
Honestly - I love my private practice, my relations with my patients and the opportunity for Cosmetic Karma to grow. Things are good, retirement is not a thought at this point.
