After graduating with honors from the University of Buffalo(New York), Dr. Mausner received his medical degree with honors in 1979. He completed a 5 year surgical residency at Stonybrook University Medical Center (New York) to become Chief Resident.Dr. Mausner continued his surgical training as a Fellow in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Georgetown University Medical Center (Washington,D.C. 1986).

Dr. Mausner's plastic surgery practice emphasizes cosmetic surgery, facial rejuvenation and body contouring. "I am continually exposed to the latest advancements in plastic surgery — both good and bad — and am very selective of the procedures I will perform. I must be convinced that a procedure is safe, effective and beneficial to my patient before I will perform it." An expert in liposuction, he was one of the first plastic surgeons in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area trained to perform ultrasonic-assisted liposuction. Dr. Mausner is also an authority on the use of lasers to treat unique facial problems.
